550ti Driver problems

To start off, I'm not very good with computer but, I got a build on the forum this month and bought the parts. Everything went well it's up and running but the Graphics card drivers fail to install.

It says Essential Drivers: and under it is install drivers, so i click it and it makes a folder and continues to do a compatibility test and boom failed NVIDIA installer can't continue.

The graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware.

Also it says NVIDIA graphics driver version 275.33

Need help asap

Currently hooked up to the mobo with a VGA cable and a monitor, plan on using the card for the hdmi to my tv but its not working, as I just got the computer running I'm letting updates go through so i shut it down, ill try the download asap and get back to you

Windows is updating atm though so it'll take a minute at 70/74 updates

Init Display First - Auto, IGFX,PEG,PCI

and

Internal Graphics - Auto,Disabled,Enabled

What should i be looking for ?

Select PEG as first display! I belief that you can leave the IGP enabled but make sure you are connected to the card with the monitor. Any issues try disabling the IGP.

I changed it to PEG but when i hook the mini hdmi to hdmi to my tv it just stays at a black screen

I disabled the internal graphics IGF because i thought it was IGP and both screens dont work and my computer is beeping, i think im screwed?

No all you have to do is reset your BIOS/cmos to defaults to get the IGP back! Your TV is set for HDMI in?

My tv runs my xbox on hdmi fine so I guess, but i cant even see anything the monitor and tv are black so i cant get to BIOS

Unplug the PC remove the motherboard battery for a few moments and it will reset BIOS.
When you are done with that hook your monitor to the card and select PEG again, HDMI might not work until you got the drivers installed.
Make sure you connected power from the PSU to the card as well.

The person that helped me build it did say about clear cmos or something and putting a screwdriver across the 2 leads would reset but im not sure if thats it

There is a little flat battery on the motherboard and there is a reset cmos jumper either way it will reset it to defaults, look up in your motherboard manual!

also it does not seem to be powered which means i probably cant do it as the wiring is my worst part, it has a 6 slot with nothing connected to it

i would check that you have the 6 pin power plugged into the video card. the card wont turn on if your missing power. if the card is working the fan of the gpu should be spinning. i would also check that the card is seated.

You guys are gonna have to help me here, I have a 6pin PCI-E cord that is 6pin to 6pin that looks like it fits into the PSU and Graphics card, do you think thats the right one?
