I am wondering, how much power might I consume with 1ssd, 2hdd's, a solid GPU, 32gb ram, and i7 4790k. Is 550w not enough? Should I wait till Friday and get 750w? I am not going to do SLI.

In most cases, that would not be enough power to run that kind of setup, or if it is, it wont be enough to try to overclock without blowing the PSU. My GTX 780 requires 650W minimum. Get a 750W if possible.

Thats more then enough to run it, can run a titan on 500w. Most websites list higher requirements as a worst case, or like if u had loads of stuff like 20 hdds connected or using amd cps with crazy tdp. I would stay away from overclocking tho, best to overclock with a higher quality psu.

You'll be fine. AnandTech did a 760 GTX review with an i7-3960X @4.3 and the usage was up to 340 watts. The 4790k is has an 88w TDP. The 3690x is a 130w TDP. That a pretty big difference and the drives definitely won't take up that much wattage. For SLI a 750 watt PSU would be need. That's overkill for a single GPU.

Buy the card.
