So i have this HDD Seagate (ST500DM002).

I just recently fresh installed Windows10 x64. Upon running HDtune Pro, i noticed that it reported that my drive has 56 damaged sectors.

I tried running the full Error Scan and showed all green sectors, nothing damaged at all. I also tried windows "chkdsk" and says my drive has no errors.

Why is this? Some kind of software error?

Thanks for reading.

Hi there trickzter182,

As a given HDD testing tool reported that there are some bad sectors on the drive, I would advise you to back up the most important data stored on the drive. This is a good practice anyway.

Some HDD testing tools report RAW values of bad sectors while others operate on a pass/fail basis. So, it is always a good idea to try some more testing tools. Check this link thread out for example: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
