I'm currently in the middle of designing a new rig for myself, and I've decided to go with the GTX 560 ti, however; I recently was able to boost the total budget for my rig and I was considering getting a GTX 460 as well and using it for PhysX. Are there any driver issues / bottlenecking that might occur if I do this?

Solution
Any thing less than a 9600gt is going to be far to weak for physx and any thing more than a gtx 260 is a waste. A 8800gt is more than enough for most physx games while a 9800gtx/gts250 is the sweet spot. Remember there is a load cap for physx thanks to the drivers so it can't use the full power of the gpu. 40-50% depending on the card and driver installed.
In my opinion a gtx460 for physX is a waste. There is also a limited number of games that maximizes physX. Just save the money and maybe buy another 560ti in the future for SLI.

Don't get a 460 for PhysX. Too few games use it and those that do can manage with a 560 Ti alone... Mafia 2 is maxed out with all PhysX on my 560 Ti and it's butter-smooth. If you just itch to have a separate PhysX card just for the hell of it - which I totally understand, its fun to fill all the slots on the machine and enable all kinds of stuff! - then find a used 8800GT or something similar to take for free from a friend or get a really wek card that will be fine for PhysX, but that's a waste of money, IMO.

Thanks, that was going to be my plan for my 9400 GT if I didn't need a beefier card for PhysX, I wont be doing anything else with it once I replace it.
