I have a single GTX 570 Superclocked card at the moment, running on a Viewsonic 1920x1080 LED Monitor @ 60Hz. I want to be able to play any and all games at High and/or Max for the next 1-2 years, but I have heard that SLI (especially 570 SLI) is not worth it unless:

a. You have a 120Hz monitor
OR
b. You are at a resolution >1920x1080 due to FPS really dropping at those "high-high" resolutions
OR
c. You have a dual/triple screen display

I do not meet any of these requirements...would I still get good value in going 570 SLI over single?

Computer specs:
CPU: i5-2500k OC'ed to 4.2Ghz
Memory: 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz
PSU: Corsair Enthusiast 750W PSU
Mobo: ASUS SABERTOOTH P67
SSD: 128 GB
HHD: 1 TB
Monitor: Viewsonic VX2450WM-LED 24-Inch Widescreen LED w/ Full HD 1080p

You can only see a maximum of 60 fps on a 60Hz moniter.... with or without v sync.

If you have the cash OP then SLI GTX 570 is definitely worth it. Its cheaper and more powerful than a GTX 590.

Although there is no such thing as future proof with computers, SLI GTX 570 is about as close as your going to get at the moment and you will more then likely be able to max games for the next 1-2 years.

You will not be able to max BF3 and get 60 fps with a single GTX 570 but you will max it with GTX 570 SLI with at least 60 fps.

You may find this interesting, http://uk.geforce.com/optimise/guides/battlefield-3-beta-performance-guide bare in mind that the GTX 570 gets just under 60 fps on...
Can you play all your games at max settings now at 60FPS (minimum)? If so, then there is no point in running in SLI since you will see no benefit. Once you get a game where you don't get max settings at 60FPS then switching to SLI would be worthwhile.

@Logicbomb But isn't the monitor bottlenecking the framerate @ 60? Even with V-Sync off, the card can only push as much as the monitor allows, correct?

@nordlead I have not looked into it, actually. I plan on waiting until BF3 comes out to see if I can pull off 60 FPS. I guess that should be the deciding factor, then.

With GTX 570 SLI you should get around 80 fps on "Ultra". I say this because GTX 560 SLI gets 80 fps on "High" so GTX 570 SLI should get 80 fps on "Ultra".

As someone who just built a new system with SLI 570s, I would definitely say it's worth it.

My only display is a 1080p 60Hz 60'' LCD TV.

There are numerous titles that will not fully max out and stay at 60fps at 1080p with only 1 570. Whereas with SLI 570's there are only maybe 1 or 2 titles you momentarily dip below 60 FPS, Metro2033 at max, Witcher 2 with Ubersampling enabled and Crysis 2 with the DX11 tesselation and ultra high res texture pack come to mind.

And by momentarily dip below I mean like... 40-50fps for a second or two.

It's also good that you overclocked your CPU, a i5-2500k at stock 3.3-3.7GHz was bottlenecking me until now I have a stable 24/7 OC at 4.6GHz and im hitting the frames I want.
