[SOLVED] 5700XT Strix or 1080ti

With Radeon announcing some custom cards including the 5700xt Strix OC, it has left me with a bit of a dilemma.

My new rig is an AMD build with a 3700x, 32GB 3200 RAM, SSD and NVME m.2 etc, but it's missing a graphic card, my choice is either a GDDR5X 1080ti and now the 5700XT Strix. So which would you choose, 11GB of GDDR5X or 8GB of AMD GDDR6?

I think the "5700xt Strix OC" model would be a much better option. How much is the price difference between these cards though ? Will you game on 1080p, 2K, or 4K ?

EDIT: Even the 1080 Ti isn't a bad option.

The 1080ti still edges out the 5700XT by alittle in alot of games, since many games just do better with Nvidia. Now choosing between the two IMO would be more about price and condition of the card. Personally I would either save the money and get the 5700XT or spend some more and get a RTX 2070 Super

I would choose the 1080ti. Overall the 1080ti is the better performer.

I'm looking for solid 1440p performance, 4k is not really that important to me

If your comfortable with used the 1080ti performs better.

If you want new the 5700xt or 2070 super are good options.

It's also worth mentioning that the rig will be used for production, editing and streaming, hence the larger core count and multifunctionality of the 3700x, so I will need consistent 1440p 60+fps on the most recent releases.
