Hi
I have a GTX 680 running on 3 monitors (Connections are a DVI, DVI to HDMI and a HDMI) and It won't run at 5760x1080, as in I have no option to do so, even though my monitors normally run at 1920x1080... Why is this!? PLEASE HELP, the max res I can choose is 4523x900 🙁

Thanks

Dan

cant, of the three i have, 2 only have vga and hdmi ports, but the 1 in the middle has DVI, hdmi and vga

Miniport to HDMI (if there is such a thing) the OP's monitors have HDMI on two and DVI on one it seems. Two DVI > HDMI adapters and using the HDMI port should work according to the NV site.

Well that would be why it isn't working, we just told you not to use VGA at all lol.

The other issue, to my knowledge, is that you can only use one HDMI monitor. The other 2 monitors have to be either DVI or displayport.

It may be possible to use an adapter to go from DVI or DP to your HDMI monitor, then use the regular HDMI out on your card to go to the second monitor and then the last to DVI. I'm not sure if this will work but its worth a try.

If all fails, you're going to have to replace at least one monitor. Again, 2 DVI + 1 DP, 2 DVI + 1 HDMI or 1 DVI, 1 HDMI, 1 DP.

I believe those are the combinations

When did you say that? This is your first post on this thread.

For ATi/AMD cards this may be so but Nvidia mention no such limitations, have you even looked at their site to see what they do or don't recommend?

I have that exact adapter and I currently have set it up as that but I cannot enable surround with a custom res for the HDMI connectors(I have to do this because otherwise the max is 1440x900 and it should be 1920x1080)

definitely use both DVI's and if you have DVI to VGA adapters that will work fine.
in nVidia CP there will be green checks meaning everything is good on your connections but we have to get to that point.
it's the third connection I'm wondering about.

Ive connected everything, it runs fine, I just cant tick the span displays with surround button because i click apply and nothing happens

NVIDIA Surround with Up To Four Monitors
Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760 x 1080, the expanded field of view fully engages human peripheral vision and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators. Add in a fourth display to keep tabs on chat, email or web while you are gaming.

still looking for details..
what sort of details?

The GTX 680 allows three Surround monitors to run simultaneously through the GTX 680’s two DVI connectors, single HDMI connector and single DisplayPort connector.

Any combination of connectors and monitors is A-OK in 2D Surround,
though in 3D Vision Surround the two DVI connectors and single DisplayPort connector must be utilized, and users must have three matching 3D Vision monitors.
Furthermore, the 3D Vision monitor connected to the DisplayPort requires a DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter if the monitor lacks native DisplayPort compatibility.
You can purchase adapters from the NVIDIA Online Store and Club 3D.
Users wishing to avoid this additional purchase should turn their attention to the BenQ XL2420T and BenQ XL2420TX NVIDIA 3D Vision LightBoost monitors,
the first to feature built-in DisplayPort connectors that support 3D.

Ive already read that

when you see the advance properties for your monitors in the windows (7?) control panel, do you see generic vga monitor or do you see your make/model display listed?

I'd say test surround on the 275.33 driver. nVidia stated a while ago that the 28x series were more "strict" with how they allowed 2D surround to function. Until the latest release driver I was stuck using 275.33 to get surround. For the current release I still had to hack my monitor's EDID to get surround working. "

Actually, You absolutely need to use 1 Display port out, one HDMI or DVI-D Out, and one DVI-A Outlet. This is due to the HDMI and DVI Sharing the same "Output connector ...???" It works the same with Crossfire on a single Card for AMD.

Beware : the 2 DVI-OUT you have are not identical, one is Digital, and one is Analogue. If you use the HDMI port, one of the 2 DVI might not work. In this case, try the other one.

SO, you may go like this.

Displayport-HDMI-DVIa
Displayport-DVId-DVIa
Displayport to Displayport v1.4 Switch : output 3 Display port (tho I Couldnt find those ... -_- )

Personally at home, I got 3 ASUS VE248Q 24in 1920X1080 2ms with Displayport.
got them on special at 210$ ea. : Great Buy !!!!

This way, I use 2 DP out on my HD6950 and one DVI out. Works Flawless.

Altheran

How could you use two hdmi ports when there is only one? You have to use the display port from what I understand.

According to the Nvidia site you are both wrong as it states quite clearly that any three digital outputs can be used.

This is the second time you have posted this and you do realise that is an older driver that has no relevance here or in the other thread that you have posted this in?
