5770,5830,gtx460, gtx260 which one?

Hello, first my system specs:

AMD Athlon X2 240 @ 3.0ghz
Wintec 2gb DDR2 800mhz ram single stick
Samsung 80GB Sata Hard drive
Okia 550 watt power supply (crappy generic psu)
Cooler Master CM 690 Nvidia edition case
Cooler Master Hyper 101a Cooler
Biostar mcp6p m2+ (crappy motherboard)

Question1: I have $260 to upgrade parts for my system on July 18. So heres my options and tell me what is best: (The parts I MOSTLY need is a graphics card and a headset for teamspeak)

1: HD 5830 1gb = $200 and Microsoft LX-3000 = $30, 1gb DDR2 = $25 (total = $255)
2: HD 5770 1gb = $160, Microsoft LX-3000 = $30, and 320gb sata hard drive = $40, 1gb DDR2 = $25 (total = $255)
3: GTX 460 (released on July 12) Graphics card = $200 and Microsoft LX-3000 = $30, 1gb DDR2 = $25 (total = $255)
4: GTX 260 896mb (used) = $150, Microsoft LX-3000 = $30, 2gb ddr2 = $45, 320gb hard drive = $40 (total = $265)

Ok so on July 18 i will recieve $260 but after that i will recieve a few more bucks , so whatever I choose I will instead buy better parts. If i chose 3 i will have to buy a power supply and have to wait until christmass to upgrade. If i chose 1 I will first see how it runs on my power supply (my power supply runs a 4870 and a 5830 uses less power so probably will work) and if i need to buy a power supply i will have to wait to christmass to upgrade, if the power supplies runs the 5830 i would instead of 1gb ddr2 I would buy 2gb ddr2 and a 160gb hard drive. If I chose 2 i would instead of 1gb ddr2 i would get 2gb ddr2 and instead if 320gb hard drive i would get a 500gb hard drive. If i chose 4, i would instead buy a 1tb hard drive and a few led fans and cathodes.

BTW im so sorry for all the reading =P, My favorite option is number 1. I game at 1920x1080-1680x1050 so i dont think number 2 will work fast enough. Number 3 is not the best becuase i really dont want to buy a power supply. number 4 is a great option but i really wanted dx11. What will be the best option idc about bottlenecking becuase at 4.0ghz the x2 240 is fast. If i buy an ati card itll be really weird since i have an nvidia case :lol:

Hahaha i knew everyone said he 5770 is enough but idk i mean with a slow x2 240 i dont think the 5770 can max games out at 1920x1080 with no aa...

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate edition 32bit... i just wanted to say search up 2gb vs 4gb to see he difference even in 32bit ingame and its a big difference so thats why i need 4gb ddr2 but i also really need hard drive space...

i will later get windows 7 ultimate 64bit...

i am now using onboard 6150se becuase i sold my 9600gt... maybe i should sell everything =P but not right now keep your opinions coming!

All the cards you listed require at least one 6 pin pci-e psu connector; the GTX260 and GTX460 will require two.
You might be able to get by with a 6 pin adapter, but I do not recommend it. If a psu does not have a 6-pin pci-e lead, it is because the psu can not reliably support it. Only if your psu were an older high quality unit like PC P&C would I try it.

Do some shopping on e-bay. You can get good deals from individuals who are just trying to get rid of some parts that they no longer need. Look at the completed listings section to see what things actually sold for. For instance, that GTX260 should go for $100(us) or so. You could find a Corsair 550-650 unit for $50 or so. If the seller has good feedback, and you pay with paypal, you are relatively safe.

Get your headset, and also consider another 2gb ram stick.

i guess ct1615 is kind of right but what i dont understand is why no one backs up the 5830. I need plenty of people to back me up on that decision before i buy it. When the 5830 was released it had many driver problems and many people have showed me some posts and benchmarks on the 5830 and how it was not worth it but with the new drivers, and new $200 price tag its really worth considering. ROFL lol and that just goes with what ct1615 just said lol

hey geofelt, the 5830, gtx460, and the gtx 260, all require 2 6 pin connectors. I have googled my power supply and found someone running a 4870 1gb on the same power supply, the thing is if it can run the 4870 then it can run the gtx 260, 5830, and idk about the gtx460. btw i am an experienced ebayer and have been buying there for many years. I have seen a gtx 260 for $120, its just no one backs it up so idk...

btw have you ever heard of dual psus? yeah I know how to "hotwire" 2 power supplies to one motherboard... lol did it for my freind he is running a gtx 470 and core i7 on 2 cheapo logisis 480watt power supplies =000 lol

Thanks man i almost chose it!!! rofl!!! so the gtx 260 isnt worth it??? on ebay there are a few $125 gtx 260s, its not worth it??? should i remove from list???

i bought the gtx 460 =)
