Hello,
I have an i5 650 overclocked at 3.84 ghz. I have 8 gigs of ddr3 RAM at 1600 mhz. I also have an xfx HD 5770 overclocked just a bit (900mhz and about 1325 mhz DDR5). Anyways, I have a 27 inch monitor and I play crysis but can only achieve "high" settings whilst in 1920x1080 res. Why does the fps slow down to 24 or so when I try to play at very high? Is it the face that my gfx card is a 5770 that is rated at 128 bit? Would a 6970 be a better option to run newer games at higher speeds because it is 256 bit and 2 gigs of ddr5? or is there something Im doing wrong? I currently play at my max resolution (crysis that is) at the high settings and almost never drop below 30-35 fps. Thanks!
