Hey guys.
Asus Prime x570-P
Ryzen 7 5800x
Asus Tuff 4070ti
850W PSU
32GB 3600Mhz 16CL Trident Z RAM
RAM XMP set to 3600mhz, no OC on GPU or CPU. Voltage sits around 4.1ish.
So I recently upgraded some parts and have an issue:
I was using a 650watt, 1070ti and 5800x.
I just upgraded to an 850watt, 4070ti
I ddu'd and installed drivers. Bios was already up to date before the switch.
In bios, I am hitting 70C. Post bios load I am hitting 90c until everything loads, then idle htis 60 - 70C.
Under heavy game load I hit and cap at around 90 - 91C, though at one point I did cap out at 98C.
I don't get any warnings or crashes, but I can tell the CPU starts to throttle itself.
I am using just a stock cooler, but I did not previously have this problem.
I am going to repaste tonight, but is it possible I jostled the cpu enough during install that the paste became less effective? I just pasted 3 months ago.
I know the 5800x runs hot, and that it puts load on to a single core while the others are asleep, but I don't think I should be at 70C idle and capping at 90C + while gaming...
Thoughts?
