5850 not running

hello

i installed my new 5850 and my new psu, but when i turn it on, it shows up nothing. i then plug it into the onboard graphics slot and it runs. i tried to disable the onboard graphics in the bios, but the problem is still happening. please help!

i have a C2Q 6700, 3gb ram ddr2, Foxconn MCP73M01H1, OCZ 550 watt fatal1ty

It Could be a dead card unfortunately, try removing ram and leave only 1 stick, try reseting bios to defaults (or remove mother board battery for 5 mins), try Bios update

i was thinking it was a dead card too :/ i tried resetting it to default and updating, but it didnt work. the fan on the gpu still works though. ill try your other ideas as well. thanks for the suggestions!
