Hello,

I had an XFX 5870 that died. XFX is replacing it with a 6950. I'm assuming the 1gb version. Should I buy a second 6950 for cf? Or sell the new one they are sending and get something different. If I go with cf I'll only need to buy the 2nd 6950 for $230-250. If I sell the new one I'll have $500 to play with. Thoughts?

I use single display @ 1920x1200 and will be playing BF3 competitively

Basic rig specs

i7 930
6gb ddr3 1600
850w high end
velociraptor 250
asus p6td deluxe
CM sniper case

VR250?

Drive space seems to be a bit lacking, though you did say basic specs. Perhaps a fast SSD? Keep your OS on your VR, and put your games on a nice fast SSD. If you're playing "competitively" then being first on the map can only help you.

On the same note, perhaps a new keyboard/mouse? Unless you didn't list that either. Your system overall looks pretty good. Not sure I'd go CF unless you are setting up eyefinity as well.
