Question Ryzen 5900X using only one thread when gaming ?

found this issues in a few games, tried checking the priority on task manger and to check the cpu affinity for them it and looked normal but for some reason they only use one core

Motherboard: MSI x570 Gaming Edge

bios: 7C37v1L

chipset : 5.01.29.2026

GPU: RX 6800 XT

GPU Driver: 23.5.2

CPU: RYZEN 9 5900X

RAM: 32GB 3600hz

PSU: corsair rm850

OS: Windows 11 Pro

That's job 1. And how job 1 gets done fast and put in L3 so threads can work.

There's more work done by many hands afterwards. Light work. Fast work. You don't notice as much.

been testing more games
apex legends & cyberpunk 2077
both have the same issue only one core working planning to test a game that is cpu heavy to see how it goes
and both games used to run fine back in the days with me i used to get around the 200 frames stable in cod now i can get only 100-110 thats a huge difference and valorant i never had dips and stuter cuz of frame drop in it before i should be able to get 400+ stable

Use HWInfo64 to monitor core activity. It has a number of parameters you can monitor if wondering about the hardware.

If wondering about the processes running then go get Process Monitor. It's a lot better than Task Manager at showing what's going on.

Ah ok those will not be shredded and threaded. This high boost is for only 1 core per die. I think even if you have 11 others haha. it's either not recognizing there are more tasks or ot's just plain underpowered.
