5930K worth the extra money?

Hello all, Just curious, if the 5930K is worth $200+ over the 5820K, as far as i can tell, the only difference is the extra 12 pci lanes, is that even really worth the extra money? is there anything ells better about it that justifies the extra money?

Depends how many gpu's you want to use. If 3 or 4 then supposedly yes the extra lanes are worth it

It is not worth it, unless you are planning 3+ way SLI, as mentioned above.

5930K is only needed if you use more than 24 PCIE lanes. Intel prices the 5930K that high because there is no competition in that price range, so basically Intel prices it that way because it can.

So, is there a big enough diffence in performance between a setup with a 4790k and ddr3, vs a setup with a 5820k and ddr4, were just talking raw processor performance, not gaming. In other words, multi threaded applications, compiling code etc.

Is it really worth the extra money to go with the new stuff? Or is it just a slight gain in performance?

Yes, in highly threaded apps the 5820K will be a LOT faster.

I would not spend the extra money unless you plan to oc the 5930k as the performance is about the same.

No, it does not. It also does not come with stock cooler. Just CPU.

Why do you care about integrated graphics if you buy a 5820k? You should favor graphics card over more cores when gaming. If you are editing then you still will want a dedicated card.
