5930k, x99s Xpower ac, lpx 3000mhz OC GENIE!!

i just recently(4days) built my new computer. specs as follows:
i7 5930k
MSi x99s XPOWER AC oc mobo
16gb Corsair LPX 3000 4x4
1050w evga supernova b2
2x ASUS Strix 970 4gb OC in sli
with a custom cpu loop- xspc ax360 raystrom d5pump/rescombo.
my problems are with OC genie/ bios settings from msi.
after updating bios to 1.6, not even the optimized default settings are stable...
at defaults it will let me boot, and everything runs fine until i try any gameplay. might let me play for 20 minutes, and sometimes wont even let me spawn..
i have tried the oc genie oc settings. and still crashing.
also. i have heard msi has problems running the quad channel ddr4 at advertised speeds, which is also and issue. i didnt buy lpx 3000mhz just to run them at 2133mhz
i was able to get them up to 2666 but anything higher just crashes, even with correcting timings/voltage. and i have found thqat the only way to run my ram at 3000mhz is to up my mobo speed to 125mhz, which shoots my multiplier up to 5.0 and then having to push 1.35+volts to keep it all stable, let alone keeping it cool.
are there some key settings that im missing?? or is there an issue? just worrys me becuase even at default settings (3.5ghzcpu 2133mhz ram) i still have crashes. i have tried each ram stick by themselves and everything booted fine on each stick.
all in all any OC i do has no justice...

all x99 motherboards have issues running ddr4 ram at advertised speed. it's how the motherboard overclocks. typically you can't boost the speed of the ram to advertised speeds without overclocking the cpu in some way as well.

it's the side effect of being an early adapter to ddr4 ram. There are dozens of good guides on the net for how to both overclock an x99 motherboard and overclock the ram to it's advertised settings. I suggest you hunt those down and start figuring it out.

On the bright side you're getting a solid look at how overclocking used to work back in the day before all these overclock friendly bios came out. Back in the day you had this exact same issue come up. Now i am NOT an expert on overclocking the x99 chipset but from what i recall when bumping the clock speed of your ram, you're basically bumping the clock speed of your BCLK which in turn bumps the clock speed of the cpu; because the clock speed of the cpu = BCLK*cpu multiplier

so your problem will likely be solved in the end with a bit of tinkering. If you need help with this process just post back in this thread. while i might not be an expert on x99 overclocking, I've been overclocking pcs since the mid90's so i probably can give you some pointers to the process.

I have no experience with your setup or DDR4. I'm inclined to agree with the previous reply based on my readings regarding the x99 chipset.
I do have experience with MSI Xpower mobos. I have a z87 Xpower board(I love it). Use the extreme tuning utility to do your experimenting(it has 2 tools, a torture test and a benchmarking tool). When you get to stable settings you're happy with, then save your o/cing settings in the bios. Saving your settings in the XTU is also a given. If, I ever build a x99 build, the Xpower would be #2 choice.

Thank you for the quik reply. i am actually not at my computer at the moment, but i will be back it all night again. and will be trying everything possible.
does adjusting the BCLK strap overclock my gpus also? becuase when i had my bclk at 125.0 to run my ram at 3000, my gpus were getting hotter then normal.
also, with the oc genie, there are xmp prifiles setting for my ram. but none have worked. and the only one that seemed to work was the 3000mhz xmp which amped my bclk to 125 and so on.
i would like to just have it all manually set up.
dou you think it is possible to run an oc with bclk at maybe 100-110.0 with cpu at 4.2-4.4, and staying under 1.35vcore?

~asking me specific questions about your cpu/overclock is iffy. see every cpu is different. that said; it should be possible to get your ram working at advertised settings and keeping the clock speed of the cpu somewhat close to where you want it.

however you said something interesting, IF your motherboard has an XMP profile for your ram, then i suggest you start out and use the XMP profile. That said apparently Haswell-E memory controllers tend to be a bit sensitive to increased voltage. many motherboards becoming unstable with ram voltage around 1.35V-1.37V... if your ram needs that much voltage for it's xmp settings you might want to "try" backing the voltage off on your dram to 1.33 or so, and see if your system will boot and be stable.
