Hi,

I tried setting "Max CPU boost override" on my 5950x but I cannot see any difference neither in core clocks nor in benchmark results. As far as I can see in HwInfo the CPU is not hitting any limits like TDC/EDC/PPT/Temp so I am surprised that the CPU is not boosting higher after setting "+200 MHz" compared to "+0 MHz". Is that expected/normal behavior? Am I doing something wrong?

My rig:
  • 5950x with Noctua NH-D15
  • Asus B550 F Gaming Mainboard with latest BIOS (2201)
  • 64GB RAM 3600 MHz

BIOS:
I did a BIOS reset and then only set:
  • DOCP -> enabled
  • PBO -> Advanced
  • PBO Limits -> Motherboard
(* Max CPU Boost override +200 MHz)

BoostTest
To the test boost I am using BoostTester (jedi95/BoostTester) and run it like 5 or 6 loops.

Result at +0 MHz:

Result at +200 MHz:

Are you experiencing a different behavior? What is limiting it to not boost higher when setting +200 MHz?

RAM is this set: Crucial Ballistix BL2K32G36C16U4B 3600 MHz, DDR4, 64GB (32GB x2), CL16

Two modules using slots A2 and B2.

This is the result with only DOCP enabled in BIOS, no PBO. It makes even a bit higher clocks 🤔 Not sure what conclusion to draw from it.
