A while ago, I purchased this wifi adaptor:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AC1200-High-Power-USB-Dual-Antenna-AC-Wireless-WiFi-Adapter-Long-Range-802-11AC/182565325039?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

And it worked for my old system, as in it could connect both 2.4 and 5Ghz. After installing Windows 10 in M.2 Nvme SSD
it can only do 2.4Ghz because it cannot detect 5Ghz. I checked drivers for both systems, and found out that its driver version is newer than that of the new system. When I tried to update it, it says I'm on the newest version, yet, it's still the old driver.

Anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

suggestion;

leave device connected to pc
goto device manage (search it in win 10) , ope network adapters, right click on your usb network device and "uninstall" and yes remove all including drivers.
remove the device from pc
reboot pc without device, let it come up completely.
do not plug device in yet.
Download and install driver from manufacturer web site
then plug device in.
test
Did you download the drivers from the site you posted above?

Try going into the adapters entry in device manager / dbl click on it / advanced tab. If there's a country region for 2.4 and 5 ghz,

You may have to change the 5 ghz to whatever channels, your modem supports

I'm using an Edup adapter too, but mines the USB 3 adapter that plugs into a USB 3 port (without the cable)

I think you need to be on a usb 3.0 port for 5GHz speeds.. You can check with a tool called USB Tree viewer (search it) and check if you wifi adapter is really connected to a usb 3.0 hub or not.

Well, I visited the site, but I couldn't find the driver that matches my adaptor. I tweak around with the settings at device manager, but none of them seemed to work.
Also, it doesn't matter whether it's USB 2.0 or 3.0 since it was working on 2.0 in my old system. However, when I switched to the new system, neither 2.0 or 3.0 works.
