Hello everyone!

At first I want to say that I'm a complete newbie in this topic...
I would like to buy a Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce (not G1) and would like to play games 😀 on 1080p (not 1440p and not 4k, etc.) without ghosting, lagging, screen tearing or whatever. But I don't know which monitor should I take.
I'm mostly looking for an IPS LED, but I'm worried that 60Hz and 5ms will be too slow.
I've tried reading after a bit, but I only saw that companies may measure response times differently.
I'm not doing competitive gaming so I think I don't need a BenQ with 144Hz and 1ms 😀
But I'm here to ask since I don't know anything.

It shouldn't be so expensive, but still be able to handle games without the problems mentioned above. I also welcome advices or your personal experiences about response times and until how much ms does it become irritating 😀

So all in all I don't want to experience any problems with it, and play mostly FPS games without lagging, screen tearing (hope this can be fixed with Vsync) or ghosting.

Hope you understood and thanks for your help!
(If something is not clear, I'll try to explain it better in the comments)

For casual gaming that's completely fine.

However, if I were you, I would look for a 3ms or below panel. 5ms won't make much difference but when lower latency panels are not much more expensive, why not!

However, there aren't many ips panels available below 5ms. So I would suggest going for a good TN panel if thats fine with you? Otherwise 5ms on the ips is fine.

Here is a good TN panel:

Monitor: BenQ RL2455HM 60Hz 24.0" Monitor (£126.29 @ Scan.co.uk)
Total: £126.29
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Thank you guys for the fast response!
I checked both products in my country and there's only a few thousand HUF difference between the two, but they're still a bit expensive for me.

@tambeshakunt You've really calmed me down with your first line 😀 I thought it isn't the right choice. But even when it is, then I can probably take it back to the shop for a refund or something like that and go for a different one.
My friends are playing on the same specs (1920...,60hz, and maybe more than 5ms) and they are completely fine. I just wanted to get a better advice 😀

So thank you again! I'll go with a 5ms IPS and if a TN with better response time has a better price then it's a no brainer 😀
