Previously, a colleague of mine formatted my Seagate 5TB external hard drive so that it would work with his Mac. He returned it to me, and now when I plug it into my computer (running Windows 7), it only shows about 1TB. I reformatted it by right clicking the external hard drive icon in "My Computer" and used the following settings:

However, it still only shows 931GB.

Any help would be appreciated.

I went into disk manager, and deleted all the partitions for the external hard drive, and now the external hard drive is not showing up at all......

It should still show up in disk manager. Create a single partition of the entire size of the disk. Then in disk manager format it.

Alright, I see it now...whew, almost had a heart attack there. I tried formatting it, but it won't allow me to make a partition larger than 2097150MB, that's about half of the 5GB I believe?

You need to create a GPT partition.
