5th Gen intel CPU or 6th gen?

Solution
Hi phillies5678 , in this moment , at this time , nobody will buy a pc for FUTURE , because it will need upgrades.

My advice is to search for Best Buy parts like FX-6300 and GTX 750 TI , but if you have enough money to spend on intel, you can wait some months for the 5th gen, maybe a good quad-core like i5 or i7 if the money are no problem, and the rest remain at your choose.

Good luck !
You should definitely wait for Skylake (Gen 6). Gen 5 is Broadwell and is focused on power saving functions and won't be worth the swap if you've got a fast Sandy, Ivy or Haswell. With Skylake the oddities with the 9-series chipset will have been ironed out.

"Intel wants to bring the latest technology to buyers as quickly as possible, and would like to close the curtain on Broadwell’s troubled existence. Mainstream PCs with Broadwell were expected this year, but were delayed following manufacturing issues that delayed chip shipments."

There's simply no reason to jump on Broadwell (Gen.5) since Skylake is just around the corner and will bring tons of improvements.

I have not waited. I got my Lenovo Edge 15 Laptop yesterday with the 5th Gen I7 -5500U Processor (2.40GHz 1600MHz 4MB processor. I am finding that it give you a little over an hour are so of battery life on this particular model. But the 4k video play back is awesome. You will immediately notice the processing speed of it over the 4th gen. The best feature that I am beginning to love is the ability to wait my laptop up with just my voice. Yes, my voice....Using something called instantgo by Microsoft (something I never heard of by Microsoft). I am still learning the features and capabilities of this new generation of processor. But from what I have this is a DON'T WAIT go ahead and buy. Note: BestBuy only have the 4th Generation Processor. I turned it and bought the 5th Gen directly from Lenovo. The 5th Generation will be available widely in the US later this year.
