are there any sound cards... under $300 if possible... that can handle 6.1s? im about to buy some fairly nice speakers and am not sure about getting the centre rear speaker... the amp supports it as does the tuner and decoder but are there any computer sound cards that do?

Not any mainstream ones that I know of. But there's not really any point. Nothing will really support it anyway

one sony dvd player but no actual dvds no... oh well... 10.2 technology is supposed to be ready and turning up in the cinemas in the near future... im not sure exactly what cinemas use right now but it has to be better than 5.1 (the better cinemas that is... i know one which uses stereo for fcuks sake...)

Theaters (cinemas) would have to be at least 6.1, probably more like 8.1, although I thought they were already up around 10.2
Anyway, I remember a part in the real-life Jungle Book ('96?) where some bats flew by, and they really seemed to be flying down the sides. Takes a few channels to do that.
