I saw that kid that claimed to have made his computer run at a "not so stable" 6.2 GHz. There were lots of people woh cried fraud, so I did a little research of my own and found this http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=79231.
just goes to show that running a presler at 6.2 GHz is entirely possible and even very probabale if you have the proper resources to do it.
I just thought that for all of those who felt that that was an impossible overclock should see that it isn't, not to say that this guy still didn't photoshop...

super duper.

It shows that somebody else did it, not who said that they had a stable system which they didn't have at all. I have no doubts that somebody could do it, but I didn't believe that he had done it because when asked for verification it started getting unstable all the sudden. I will believe that he can do it when I see some proof.

I missed the part of that link saying the L1/L2 caches are enabled.

CPU-Z is likely to report the quantity and type of cache of the processor, even when disabled.

Disable L1 and L2 cache = extreme clock speed.

When / If they show SANDRA benchmarks (which will suck if the L1 cache is disabled), and game benchmarks (which will suck if either L1 or L2 cache is disabled) then they gain what is commonly known as 'credibility'.

I aggree that it is possible, with advanced cooling. But if some fool just buys the parts and doesn't know how to make it stable, with no prior overclocking experience... well, Karma will kick them square in the balls.

wow nice O/C !!

almost 1 mhz... :roll:

back on track---->

It is a 65nm chip so i'm not that surprised.
I thought i remember Tom pushing a p4 to 5ghz w/ prometia or vapochill.

Not sure if you can disable L1, but disabling L2 is very fun to play with indeed.
Extremely useful for Mhz records.

if only my mobo would support higher FSB's :roll: I'd have the fun of my life otherwise 😉
