6+2 PCI-e cable in a 6 pin GPU

I have a question: will a 6+2 pin PCI-e (power) cable fit in a 6 pin gpu. I'm planning on buying the msi gtx 1050ti gaming x which has a 6 pin port and my psu only has a 6+2 pin PCI-e cable. Will it still fit?
