6+2 pin PCIe

Hi guys,

I am currently building an Intel i7 7700k system (my first build) with an MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X. Too keep within budgets I bought a Corsair AX850 professional off of Ebay. When it arrived I realised there were no PCIe cables, which was my mistake because I didn't read the description. Hence, I have been searching for these cables. The ones I found were:

I have no idea which ones to buy - I'm not even sure they're the right choices. I'm pretty sure the MSI GTX 1080 has an 8 pin and 6 pin input, so do I need two separate PCIe cables, or a single PCIe cable that is split into two or something. And well, I only have one 8 pin slot on my PSU.

Not mine but it's the same layout.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't need all the cables, just the PCIe ones, however I also only have one PCIe slot on the PSU.

But please note that whilst there is a standard at the end that plugs into the GPU, there are no standards at the PSU end, so it is likely that cables that are not specifically for your precise model of PSU will not work, and could cause damage to the PSU and the GPU. A manufacturer might well use different connection layouts across the range of their PSUs.

guranteed it will work, its a pretty oudated unit(not that its bad), cant find it in stock anymore.

the layout of your PSU plugs starting at the top left going across
24 pin ATX the next (5) 6 pins are for sata/molex cables

Bottom row
part of the 24 pin ATX plug, 8 pin is for the 4-4 CPU, (2) 12pin are for the PCI-e

Like superninja12 said, just get the whole kit so you have all the cables you need for the PSU

That's where you are wrong, the 8 pin on the PSU is not for your GPUs its for the CPU. The two 12 pins are for your GPU

Ah, right. However the cable for my CPU is a 12 pin to 4+4 pin.

You are missing way to many cables, buy the kit. Why would you use a 12pin to 8 pin? what are the other 4 pins doing then? This is another reason I hate Corsair and their proprietary plugs that make no sense.

My fault that i didn't research it, i bought it out of impulse, I got too excited as it only cost me £68. I'm going to return it and find a better PSU.
