Hi guys. I'm building a day trading pc for my dad. I'm looking for the most budget choice parts to build upon a workstation that will allow me to connect with 6 monitors for day trading. Can I have a build please? I'm not going to be using it for gaming so I would assume that an i3, i5 or a good solid AMD 6400 or better would suffice for my needs? For the pc parts, My range is pretty small, but I'm not asking for a super rig. Just something that's going to be for normal use. I have a $400-700 budget just for the parts. The less, the better. In fact, I would like the cheapest possible setup that is still relevant today. Do not include OS, mouse, keyboard, monitors, etc. I have all that figured out. Thanks.

I had a build all picked out, but I lost it. It was something like an i3-4160 is around $120, 8gb ram is around $55, found a mid sized motherboard that supported the 1150 chips for $75, and had 2 video outputs. Maybe a r9 280 gpu since it has 4 video outputs was around $180. A small SSD was around $60. 600 watt PSU was around $65. Cheapest HHD, and cheapest optical drive totaled $75 combined. Not looking to overclock. I'm good with gaming pc builds, but I've never thought about hooking up 6 monitors. Please help me out.

My build was right around $630. Maybe it could be better built as an AMD pc? As I stated, I build primarily gaming PCs, so I only know how great the i5 and i7 chips are for that. AMD I know just aren't as great for games, but they seem to work with regular use just fine.

Hi Quicksterdnb,

Have you had any luck with your build? I am having issues with my setup, so I am curious what you came up with.

Thanks!
