Hi Everyone,
Still new to this site, think its my 3rd or fourth post, so forgive my ignorance. I have a desktop I built roughly 6 months ago. In the past two months its been randomly crashing, and the frequency of crashes feels like its been increasing.
Error Message
It usually pops up with a message something along the lines of "New hardware or software maybe be the cause of startup failure." It crashes while running goes to a split second bluescreen, then tries to boot. And gets stuck in the loop.
Temp Fix
I realized if I unplug all the peripheral devices, headset, mouse, and keyboard, its able to start. But only AFTER running the windows repair tool, and then unplugging and booting. 2 days ago I went though this process again and now the computer is noticeably slower. To the point where my 11" chromebook is faster than this budget desktop build.
Long Term Fix
I have no idea. I dont have an optical drive, I installed Windows 7 via a USB. Would upgrading to 8 help me? I would like to avoid 10, just because im a fan of Captain Jack Sparrow. Is it possible to get diagnostic tools onto a USB as well?
Im trying to major in computer science, so a reliable desktop is a requirement for me. Also finals week next week and my final coding project for the semester. Im in the first Intro Class to C++, if anyones curious, and its been a blast so far! Just started data structures =] Basically if you help me fix my PC Me love you long time!
