Hello, I've been trying to figure this out for the past week without much luck. I have a relatively new desktop that is at times taking almost five minutes to reach my bios screen. My specs are as follows:

Intel i5-4690k
Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H Mobo
8 gb kignston hyperx 1600 mhz
Samsung 850 EVO 120GB SSD
2x WD Blue 1Tb HDD
Seagate 500gb HDD
Toshiba 1Tb external hard drive(Normally hooked up during boot)
Nvidia GTX 760
650w PSU

I reinstalled windows yesterday, a long with all my drivers. When just my SSD was hooked up by itself, it did boot faster but still a took a minute or so to even reach my bios screen. With all my drives hooked up, it's taking about the same amount of time as before my reinstall. If anyone has any insight to my issue, your feed back would be greatly appreciated. Thank your for your time.

Solution
If you want to simply increase your boot time I suggest trying this

Log into Windows, search for a program called msconfig
Open msconfig
Click on the boot tab
Click on advanced options
Select number of processors
Click on the highest number, press ok and apply
Reboot.
