Question 6 pin connector to 2 pin connector

my new gpu requires a 6 and a 8 pin connectors however my power supply has 3 6 pin connectors. is there a way to change one of the 6 pin connectors to a 2 pin connector in order to have 2 6 pins and a 2 pin. thanks

Hi, you should be aware that converting a 6 pin to a 2 pin isn't recommended because the power differences. It's safer to upgrade your power supply for proper GPU support to avoids potential damage and making sure compatibility...

There are ways to change two 6-pin connectors into a single 6+2 connector. Problem is, they're strongly non-recommended due to the tendency of these cheap adapters to melt -- or worse. If a GPU requires a 6 and an 8-pin connector and the PSU only has 6-pin PCIE connectors, then almost invariably, the PSU is either absolutely ancient or of very low-quality, or both, meaning it's a terrible idea.

It's hard to give you any more advice without a lot more information; you've told us nothing about the PSU or the GPU.

What is model name of your graphics card?
What is model name of your PSU?

You can convert two 6pin connectors into single 8pin.

I had no say in what's in my pc as I didn't buy any of it nor build it so I have no clue. I know it's a cooler master one if that helps.

Sorry, but we'd absolutely need specific make/model of ALL of the parts in question.
Without that, recommending anything is just irresponsible.

Otherwise, you should abandon the idea to use the GPU. Basic safety is important.
