6 pin to 8 pin

So my desired gpu requires 8 pin and 6 pin pcie power connectors, but my psu only has two 6+2 pcie outputs. Can I connect the 6 pin pcie of the gpu to one of the 6+2 pcie’s of the psu?

Yep! That's exactly why they split them up into 6+2. You'll have the +2 left just hanging there.
