hello I'm planning on building a pc for imaging mainly photoshop and corel painter x3 it is unlikely to be used for gaming. I want something that will give the right configuration options. i saw a video on the gtx 560 and saw the stretch options and I'm confused. could i use two of these cards or similar and maybe stack/ stretch if you understand my terms, 5760x1080 on top of each other as 1 monitor for the wall then 1920x1080 side by side as 3840x1080 my pc is not finalised

for very little money and NO GAME capability, you can do a 2x3 grid with 2 cards. might cost you $60 total. it's what i'm currently slumming it with. a Galaxy MDT GT610 for dual 3840x1080, and a GT9400 for the other two 1920x1080

[1][2][5]
[3][4][6]

1+2 = GT610 output one, split on card
3+4 = GT610 output two, split on card
5 = 9400GT output one
6 = 9400GT output two

EDIT - my revised build which should be done by NYEve will have dual HD7790s, one running 1,2,5, and the other running 3,4,6

they might, but it's not something i care about. they'll at the very least let me watch a movie across all 6 screens. currently, with my GT610+9400GT i can watch a movie stretched across 1,2,3,4 and it's fine, but as soon as i try to go even a pixel into 5,6 it stutters like hell and the frame rate drops to 1 or less. no joke. it can freeze up. i HAVE been able to play a movie on all 6 only if i change to 16-bit color mode, and then it's surprisingly watchable, almost normal.

and with me being an engineer, i genuinely dislike having one card in a PCIe-x16 slot running at x16 while the other card is running at x4, so... the new mobo will let both PCIe-x16 slots run at x16 at the same time (990FX chipset allows that)

i still won't care about games, but at least everything else will be wonderful.

in case you're curious, new build will be:

GA-990FXA-UD3 mobo
FX-6350 processor
dual ASUS HD7790-OC2-whatever cards
4x4G RAM
other irrelevant stuff
