60hz 4K monitor.

Hey guys. Bought a new strix 2060 GPU.

Set it all up with a u28h750uqe monitor 60hz 4K.

I’ve tried to get my monitor to run at full resolution but i can’t seem to get it to run at 60 hz. It only runs at 30.. when I drop it down to 1080, it runs at 60 though. I have a 4K 2.0 HDMI cable. But I’m not entirely certain if everything is right.

Anyone have any thoughts? Cheers!

The hdmi ports on that monitor are hdmi 2.0b. That means they are capable of 4k @ 60Hz.

The hdmi ports on the asus rtx2060 strix are 2.0b.
That means they are capable of 4k @ 60Hz.

Which leaves the cable. There's 2x kinds of hdmi cable, the older, standard model and high speed model. For 4k at 24/30Hz a standard will work. For full 60Hz, you'll need a high-speed cable.

Hdmi relies on a 'handshake' when connecting, so you could try a re-negotiation, which means turn on pc, pull the hdmi out of the monitor with pc still on, then plug back in.

Or just use the DisplayPort.
