$600 after rebate Pure gaming computer

Sep 16, 2011
Approximate Purchase Date: End of September

Budget Range: $500-$600 after rebate (i do have a limited fund, about $680 with rebates included)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Purely for gaming. I want to be able to play things like Diablo 3, APB:reloaded, etc. on high settings if possible

Parts Not Required: Mouse, Keyboard (planning on getting a real cheap one), speakers.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com

Country of Origin: USA

Parts Preferences: From what i read, a budget gaming comp is best with AMD. If you feel otherwise give it a shot. But i prefer AMD

Overclocking: Maybe, im new to DYI computers so I dont know much about it.

SLI or Crossfire: No, just because I don't know what it is and prolly wont bother with my first ever build

Monitor Resolution: a monitor is included in this price and I'd like a 19-20" which come around 1600x900 i believe

Additional Comments: Like said before, its a pure gaming set up. I plan on adding onto/updating the system as i get money. I would like support for future use 2 screens also. I will start with 1, but two once i get my hands on another.

Any help would be great! I was looking around the forums and saw this post:

the last (and cheapest build) might be something im interested in, so basing off of that or suggesting changes to that one would be good. Or build an completely different one! up to you.

Thanks in advance.

Id try to get An Intel i3 2100, DDR3 1600Mhz RAM at least. Try to sneak in a lower priced Z68 chipset mobo if possible to use 1600MHz or better RAM and you get SATA 3.0 and USB 3.0. An AMD 6850 video card if you can squeeze it. Look at WD drives or Samsung's newer ones. I've had very good luck with ASRock mobos, not my first choice but they all have continued to perform very well.
