Hi toms hardware, i am building my own pc soon, and need your input. My budget is $600, and i would like to be able to run far cry 3 at 1080p high-ultra settings at at least 30fps. Other games that i require running at at least high settings 1080p are crysis 2, bioshock infinite, tomb raider, mw3, deus ex: Human Revolution, and skyrim. I need no extras, i have a monitor, mouse and keyboard, all i need is an os, and the tower. I have a hard drive and 6gb of ram, but i don't know if either of them work, so if you can include those in the budget, that would be great. Let's see what you guys come up with :)

Solution
Let's be real here for a minute. For $600 with an OS, we should be shooting for medium/high settings not High/ultra. That is just not going to happen.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($116.97 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($49.99 @ Microcenter)
Memory: A-Data XPG V1.0 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($72.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda ES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($55.00 @ Amazon)
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT Source 210...
well.. what you mention is basically what i had in my build exactly.

just trim it down to a 270 not the 270x. i would go with a better psu if its possibly in budget though (xfx or seasonic would be ideal). the CX series isnt horrible (its at least tier 3 not below) but its not exactly a favorite. antec, xfx, seasonic or the higher grade AX/HX corsair are considered much better.

anyways... not much else can be done for such a budget.

most of us feel rather strongly about it.

the reason we suggest xfx is that seasonic makes those units for them. seasonic or xfx (basically same source) are A+. antec is also known for some good units. corsair... well you heard the units i mentioned from them.

yea, thanks guys, i think im gonna go to bed now, so don't expect a reply anytime soon. If you could, please work on a build for me, i have been researching for months now, and i need some help with all the parts, can't seem to find something underbudget that can do all that i want it to, have to make some sacrifices i guess. PLEASE keep in mind that i am buying everything from frys, so if you could get prices from them specifically, that would be AWESOME, night :)

tiny voices, its just that we have found some new things out, like i can reuse the hard drive from an old computer, so say using that $55, i could upgrade to a 500w psu, and maybe a radeon hd 7870 graphics card? i would use the rest of the parts that you suggested. I also have another case that i really like the look of, and its gotten good review, the Thermaltake Commander snow edition. What do you think about that?
