60FPS doesn't look like it's displaying at that framerate

Hi.
When playing any game and pulling the Afterburner display (or in-game framerate counter) the framerate counter shows numbers much higher than what I'm looking at.
For example, in Battlefield 3, when the framerate is showing 60fps+ the motion still stutters too much and looks like it's running at 30fps.
I have a single HD6870 with a i5-2500(3.3GHz) and 8GB RAM. Please help.

try using a different program to measure fps.

Compare with Fraps, that 6870 can only hit 60 FPS at 1080p wuth a mix of medium and high.
