64/32 bit chip set

I am an engineer with a library of drawings going back 20 years. How can I upgrade to a new 64bit computer (I need one) and yet be able to view my old rawings, principally on autocad.Also most of my software was intended for 32 bit. Any processor I can depend upon to read both 32 & 64 bit progams?

The ability to run 32 or 64bit programs is more dependant upon the Operating System than the CPU. I would suggest a dual boot system with Win7 (32bit and 64bit)on an i7.
If you are wondering if the programs can run together, that is an issue I am unfamiliar with.
