Hi, I'd like to buy a 64 bit processor (3200 maybe). Does anyone know how good this is, i heard it was. Also, what would be a good MB to go with it? How about this one:

I already have a good enough graphics card, the 9800 pro IceQ, but some advice on what RAM to use with this setup would be cool. Oh, and I'd like a good fan/heatsink to go with it, any suggestions? Cheers.

Radeon 9800 Pro IceQ 128MB
AMD Athlon XP 1800
512 SDRAM
Shuttle AK32 Mainboard
Win XP

The Athlon 64 3200+ is a very good CPU. If you want to buy now and don't plan to overclock. Get a VIA K8T800 based motherboard. If you plan to overclock, the nForce3 250 motherboards will be better at it.

For the RAM, if you don't overclock get some brand name DDR400 (Corsair, Kingston, etc...). I would get 2x512Megs. If you plan to overclock you could get DDR433/466 to make sure your ram will not be your bottleneck.

If you buy a BOXED CPU, the HSF comes with it and it's more than sufficient for moderate overclocking.

But, many will strongly recommend you to keep your money a few weeks and way to buy Socket939 MB/CPU. This will be a better pletform on the long run.
