TL;DR: 4x16GB with XMP, 2x16GB dont.

Hey, I have a problem with the RAM CMT64GX4MZ3600C18 XMP profile.
If I use all four sticks (4x16GB) with XMP profile ON (18-22-22-42 1.35V) = windows freeze.
If I manually change the voltage to 1.37V = all work well.
Except for voltage, the rest of the BIOS settings for RAM is in a default state. So four stick with 64GB total work good.

Problem: If I put only two sticks (2x16GB) of the named RAM = bios resets to default and do not allow XMP to be enabled.
Debug steps taken:
  • Rotated different sticks and slots (A1,B1 - A2,B2), no changes.
  • Used 2x8GB HyperX 3600Mhz (DTMS0891763), XMP works fine on full auto.
What should I change in order to run 32GB instead of 64Gb from this set?

Stats:
Mobo gigabyte Z390 UD(rev.1.0)
BIOS Ver. F10e (latest)
VGA Brand other - Aorus
VGA Model 1080ti
CPU Model i5-8500 (no OC)
Memory Brand Corsair
Memory Part No. CMT64GX4MZ3600C18
Memory Size 64GB/ 32GB
Power Supply Seasonic focus 850W
Operating System Win 10 64-bit PRO (latest)

reset the BIOS by jumper and try again

with your CPU, 2666MHz would be fine, It won´t perform better with more than that
You are completely wrong.
The difference in speed and latency in this particular system is notible all across the board.
  • 2666 vs 3600
  • Read 31.8 Gb/s vs 44.9 Gb/s
  • Write 33.5 Gb/s vs 47.3 Gb/s
  • Latency 71.3ns vs 56.8ns
My question is why I can run 64Gb At 3600 Mhz and 32Gb only at 3333?

Update: managed to OC ram manually.
32GB at 3333 Mhz 16-17-17-37 1.35v.
64 GB at 3600 Mhz 18-22-22-42 1.37v.

32GB at 3600 Mhz not working at any timing and voltage combo =(

Update 2:
Managed to run 16Gb, 32Gb and 64GB at 3600Mhz on X570+Ryzen 5 3600x although speeds there complete garbage compared to intel, especially latency is over 75ns.
