65" led tv 600 to 1000 no flicker sugestion

I have bought a tcl 65" tv from Walmart for a black Friday sale at $400. I set it up and placed it besides my 55" tv and saw the tlc tv frame would pause start shutter, just NOT smooth. My tv was liquid smooth. I have searched for so long and in the end it would just be a guess for me to pick one. I want to buy one for a gift but I am so concerned that I choose another bad tv. I really need a tv person to help me out. There is just to many to choose from and to much bad information.

A lot of TVs have motion interpolation turned on by default. This takes 24 fps or 30 fps video, and converts it into 60 fps video on the fly. This creates very smooth video motion, but it's smoothness that's not contained in the original video signal. Some people complain because it looks artificial (called the soap opera effect, since it's usually movies which are 24 fps and TV video which is 60 fps, and movies interpolated to 60 fps look like they're shot for a TV soap opera).

So your new TV may be just fine. It may in fact be your old TV which is altering the video to make it "liquid smooth".
