Hello all,

I am thinking of building a PC (for the first time) and my budget is around $650. I would like to see some builds in that price range that can run Skyrim with an ENB, Battlefield 3, Bioshock Infinite at high settings at 1080p (It would be nice to be able play Skyrim with an ENB mod, I should also add)

Now I have done some research, and I think AMD FX-6300 for CPU and Nvidia GTX 760 for GPU is a good choice (though I might buy HD7870 if the difference isn't significant enough)

I really need your suggestions on anything else, especially on the case and the power supply (I really don't want to spend much on those). I don't plan to overclock the CPU and I don't need OS or monitor but I need an optical drive.

Thanks in advance, and please ignore any grammar mistakes I might have done.

you'd want a power supply in the 550/600w range, something 80+ bronze or better (silver and gold are better than bronze)
I'd hit up newegg and see what's on sale with rebates etc etc.

Case, well that's up to you. I've used a few different raidmax mid-towers that were $30 after rebate for budget builds, never had an issue with any of them. If you want something fancy and stylish, you'll be more into the $60 to $70 range.

depends if you care what it looks like or not.

Here is a good build for you:

PSU- You want to always get a good quality power supply. XFX uses a Seasonic OEM so they are really good. Stick to XFX, Seasonic, Corsair (AX/TX/HX series only)
GPU- Went with the r9 270x, now that it is cheaper than 5 months ago, it is a good choice for $200, the gtx 760 is a bit better but costs $50 more.
Case- Try to stick with Corsair, NZXT, Fractal Design, and Cooler Master Cases.

It is also recommended to get an aftermarket cooler with the fx-6300, the stock cooler is not very good.

The Cooler Master 212 Evo is a good one for $30

If you live anywhere near a Microcenter, you can save another $50 on the combo CPU/motherboard listed here. Put that savings into your vid card.

This uses the GTX 760 you originally mentioned. You can save another $50 switching to an R9 270 instead.

I would recommend trying to go for an $800 Budget. $800 is probably the sweet spot (This is MY opinion) for gaming and other stuff. So try to work in that extra $150 if you are going to build a PC. Hope this helps you!
