hi everyone,

I'm planning to buy the i7-6700k + the maximus VIII Hero + 16gb ddr4 memory and i already have the asus strix gtx 1080. last year i bought the corsair cs650m psu(80+ gold). is this enough watt or do i need to upgrade my psu also? i also have some led lights, 4 fans and three ssd's.
i'm in doubt because different sites give different results when i enter my sytem specs.

Thanks!

Solution
You don't need more than 550W for any Single GPU.
The Current go-tos are

Super Flower
Evga Supernova GS or G2
Corsair RMx or RMi
XFX XTR
Seasonic G

Dark Rocks are usually pretty bad value since they're heavily priced

Thanks for the fast reply and tip!
should i go with the dark power pro 650 or 750? i have no plans to add a second gpu soon

thanks!
i went with the 'be quiet! Straight Power 10 CM 700W tier 2 psu' it seems the best choice for price and availability from where i buy.

interesting.
well as long as you don't really stress it, it'll probably be fine
(that being said the Tier list has to be taken with a pinch of salt as the Straight Power is significantly worse than the Seasonic-built [XFX; EVGA, Antec] units on that list )

or this one? https://www.alternate.nl/Cooler-Master/V750-750-Watt-voeding/html/product/1217700?event=search
according to the list it's a tier one psu.

It's a good one but overpriced.
Still don't know what you'd need 750w for. 750w can power two 1080s.

Anyway if you're bound to use 750W for some reason
https://www.alternate.nl/Corsair/RM750x-750-Watt-voeding/html/product/1227633?lk=9305
This would be the best deal on alternate.nl
If modular cables and gold efficiency aren't that important to you this is a durable quality unit:
https://www.alternate.nl/XFX/PRO750W-Core-Edition-750-Watt-voeding/html/product/691358?lk=9305

Personally since most XFX units are out of stock and Seasonic is a bit pricier than usual, I'd go with this one https://www.alternate.nl/Corsair/RM550x-550-Watt-voeding/html/product/1227632?lk=9304
And save the cash on a 750W PSU.

People barely go.SLI and it doesn't provide that much of an edge in many games since they're poorly optimised for a setup like that
550W are enough for a single 1080 + an i7 even when you OC. 650W if you want to be absolutely sure.

Allright, thanks for the research and tips. last question, this one https://www.alternate.nl/Corsair/RM650i-650-Watt-voeding/html/product/1208772?event=search

or this one
https://www.alternate.nl/Corsair/RM650x-650-Watt-voeding/html/product/1227635?event=search

price between them doesn't matter
