Hello, I have recently bought a 7800xt and the box shows that the minimum recommended PSU is 700w or higher. I currently have a Seasonic Core Gold GC 650 650W 80+ Gold. This is only 50 watts below the recommended wattage so surely this shouldn't cause any problems. I have no intention of overclocking or adjusting the base settings. The pcpartpicker website is saying that wattage is 467w which is almost 200 under what i can have maximum. Can I use it or should I get a new PSU?

I would try with the PSU you have and if you have problems, get a 750watt PSU.

Corsair PSU Calc shows it only needs a 650watt.
Seasonic suggest a 750 though

I love clarity.

I should have tried that myself, I had a Seasonic 750w Platinum, and got a 7900xt and wasn't sure, like yourself, if it was enough. So I bought a 1k... seems I could have used what I had.

Thanks for the response. So I won't have to worry about it harming any components if I do use it? What sort of problems should I keep a eye out for?

I think the most likely would be the screen not turning on. That would indicate its not getting enough power. USB devices might also turn off for same reason.

If PC Part picker is accurate, you should be fine. It estimates my power usage as only 570 but I am not sure I would be happy with a PSU that low.
