Hi

My mobo is Asus P9X79-E WS and my RAM is Kingston KHX2400C11D3/8GX.

CPU-Z shows this:

I'm a noob, so please forgive me ... but shouldn't this mobo+ram run at higher frequency than 660MHz?

The BIOS is set to "default", so I haven't changed anything.

Thank you in advance!

Hmm.
The max official speed supported on that board is 1866MHz. Any higher, as in the two profiles you tried, requires overclocking of the RAM modules. Since they don't want to run at either speed by choosing a profile, you're most likely going to have to try tweaking them manually. Try adding a little voltage to see if they'll stabalize.
If you wish not to do so, then I would suggest 1600MHz as a good speed. I've read that performance at 1866MHz can actually be worse than at 1600.

I have two profiles...

and

But if I chose one of this, I get this...

So I have to go back into the bios and disable XMP to get the machine to boot.

Any idae? Thanks!!!
