Hello I have the Gigabyte gtx 970 Xtreme gaming , which is still a powerful card for 1080p.
I was thinking upgrading my 6600k to a Ryzen 2600 or an I7 8700 , but i read somewhere that i will have some bottleneck.
What would you do with 500-600$ budget?
Specs
I5 6600k stock
Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5
G.Skill RipjawsV 2400mhz 1x8gb
Corsair CX600
Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 5
Deepcool Dukase V2
Samsung 860 evo 250gb

Solution
Yup, SLI support is worse than ever and that's a rather mediocre PSU, not one I'd want to run two GPUs on (and certainly would never use PCIE adapters).

I don't see enough of a benefit to change platforms - an 8700k/2600 don't provide enough of a boost over a 7700k (which you can use with a BIOS upgrade) for the cost difference of buying a new motherboard.

As sizzling said, I'd look for deals on a 1070 or 1080, with prices dropping, and a better quality PSU. That'll leave you either awesome at 1080p for a long time or give you room to go to 144hz or 1440p.
Running dual channel memory would be nice too if you get lucky and find a 2nd matching memory stick.

A big cpu cooler too and do some overclocking. That corsair CX600 has a 40amp 12volt rail (Because i used them before) but some lack enough PCIE connectors so you might have to resort to one of those hated and usually not recommended but in this case its ok... Molex to pcie adaptor or a pcie splitter. (Look in your video card box maybe it has one, or check maybe you have the later CX600 with more connectors.)

Also maybe some case fans if your case has empty fan spots, running sli will increase the heat in your case.

----A 2nd option is to sell your used GTX970 and go with a faster card like a used GTX980ti, new GTX1080 or Vega 56, something like that depending on the prices and sales you find.

I'd say a gpu upgrade is the best option, maybe a 1070. There are a few games where your cup might cause of drops under 60fps. Dual channel 16Gb would also be a good upgrade. I'd also ditch that low quality CX600, it the old model and is just waiting to give you problems.

As for the suggestion above about Sli, I just wouldn't go there. Single stronger card is far better IMO.

Yes im interested in the seasonic focus plus 550 gold. Can i get 3200mhz RAM or they are not supported?
I just found Asus GeForce GTX1070 8GB OC (90YV09T1-M0NA00)
for 350 euros.
But I checked about bottleneck in a calculator (are these legit?) and it says
20% bottleneck

i5 6600k has only 4core/4treads and in newer titles it will bottleneck your system or cause microstuttering , maybe overclocking can solve this for some titles

OK i will buy a Corsair TX550M and a used 1070 for 350 euros and OC the CPU a little . Thank you all guys for the replies. One last question if you don't mind, I know it should not posted here , but can i add a different brand memory stick to get 16gbs of RAM? Because i cant really find the same one.. I have found that G.skill aegis 2400mhz has similar specs to my RipjawsV 2400
