Hey, first of all, I'm new to overclocking. Just so you know. I got an i5 6600K CPU, and I was wondering (and couldn't find on Google) which frequency and voltage should I do. Of course, 100% safe and stable, if possible. I'm thinking 4.0 to 4.4 Ghz, but I don't know the voltage for them. The only one I found was 4.2 Ghz at 1.2/1.25V. Could anyone help me with this?

I have an Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Motherboard, SilentiumPC Fera 2 cooler, a Fractal Design Edison M 550W 80Plus Gold PSU.

If you try to overclock and you can't get it to remain stable, then you live with it as is stock.

I don't want to scare you, this is rare and unlikely. However my point was more, with a question like you...
not familiar with that cooler but it seems ok for a cheap cooler

every chip overclocks a little differently but just raise the multiplier and leave the voltage on auto to begin with

start at x40 see what voltage is in cpuz

then do 41 etc it may do 4.2ghz without needing to touch the voltage

keep an eye on cpu temps with coretemp or similar

Wait, doesn't overclock at all? What happens then?

However my point was more, with a question like you asked you may well get people that will say "you can hit 4.5ghz no problem just do this and this" when in reality it does not work like that (and why you should follow a guide like I posted instead), because your chip may not like anything over 4.3 ghz.

I have overclocked it to 4.2 Ghz with stock voltage. I'm confused by the voltage, the BIOS was saying something very high (like 1.48) and both CPU-Z and Core Temp say something around 1.34. Which is too high for my liking anyway. Currently testing on AIDA64. The temperatures don't seem that bad, and so far (after over 13 minutes) everything is going fine. Core's maximum temperatures: Core 1: 69°C, Core 2: 73°C, Core 3: 67°C, Core 4: 69°C.
