6600k vs 760k

Alright guys, ive got myself a 5400k right now at 4.6ghz and i need a little more, so im going to upgrade to a 760k, but theyre sold out right now and i don't want to wait. Is the 6600k a good second options (It will only be used as a cpu)

8GB 1600 ram
xfx 7770
160 GB hd

The 750k is a better second option. Is the 760k sold out everywhere or are your buying options just that limited?

Just get the 750K instead. Overclockable so the lower stock clocks don't matter.

Sold out everywhere, and i thought about it and i read online that the 750k is only a dual core with amd's 'hyper-threading' and i like the richland architecture

No. The 750k is a quad just like the 760k. The 750k is Trinity while the 760k is Richland. Both of them are based off of the A10 5800k/6800k chips with the igpu disabled.

The 6600k will go a little higher but it's much more expensive.

Alrighty, I got myself a nice master cooler t4, so ill be able to push the 750k a ways, thanks for the help and Yeah, i read online that they're just defective 6800k, so amd must being doing well and not having very many defects either
