667 mhz and 800mhz RAM DDR2

I am planning on upgrade my pc and I just wanted to know, am I going to have a noticable performance if I upgrade my RAM to this (800mhz) http://www.e-shop.gr/show_per.phtml?id=PER.553911 from this (667mhz)

I currenly have 4Gb of 667mhz, and im going to upgrade to 4Gb of 800mhz with passive cooling and some other stuff that the new ram haS

you won't really notice a hike in performance your better off just increasing your current amount of 667 as long you have a 64 bit os

i got 4 gigs of 800mhz to replace my 3gigs of 667 and it didn't help beyond the increase size. 667 to 800 isn't really a big enough of a improvement to really replace.

If you want to shift from 667mhz to 800mhz then it will give minimum effect on your whole system specially system starts, but give to much improvement when you run a program, games or copy large files. In short your system processing speed going to fast as before.

even in gaming it wont make much of a difference, i've compared and it might add a frame if any difference. now if he was wanting to go up to ddr3 speeds it makes more sense

DDR3 RAM speed and latency has very little impact on system performance as DDR3 has plenty of bandwidth and is not a bottleneck for most systems.

Adding more RAM to a 64 bit system does not increase system speed much either but it allows you to have more apps open concurrently or to use large apps like spreadsheets, CAD, video editing, etc.

If you decide to add RAM, do yourself a favor and buy ONE matched, tested RAM Kit. Do not just add RAM as it will likely not work with your current RAM even if the same part number. Do NOT buy multiple DIMMs of the same part numer as these too may not work without issues. Buy ONE matched, tested RAM Kit.

adding more ram makes changing apps on the fly quicker and it does improve performance on certain games if the use high amounts of ram, also saying that it will likely not work his current ram is false. i've always have used different speeds and letencies. example i have 2*2 gig of 800 mhz and 1*2 gig of 667 mhz. it simply scales down to the slowest set nominator. now of coarse you want to use at least i two stick kit for each duel channel set, but it's safe to have two different sets.
