Ok guys I have a gtx 670 already (palit non jetsream edition) I was wondering should i upgrade to a 690 or sli my already current 670, Just to add i will be planning on setting up three monitors but I would like to have your opinion on which would be better performance wise.

ok for my self i would rather have the single fastest gpu then 2 slower gpus

but in youre case i think buy another gtx 670

because gtx 670 is great and 2 of them (sli) are AWESOME + you save money

The GTX 690 is higher performance than two GTX 670s in SLi.

as i said i prefere more the gtx 690

but the gtx 690 costs as much as three gtx 670

and the gtx 670 sli is more than enough to play games paired in 3 monitors

Of course man so would three 670s easily outperform a 690 and will it be very futureproof.

a gtx 690 is just 2 gtx 680 paired

so 2 gtx 670 are very very very close to 1 gtx 690

and 3 gtx 670 are better then 1 gtx 690

so 3 gtx 670 > 1 gtx 690

Eh, dunno about that last part lol. With either a 3x670 or 2x7970 set-up, you're still going to be producing a boatload of heat and using more power than the single 690. If you are not concerned about price, I would actually just buy 1 gtx 690 and even sell off your 670 for some extra cash.

Sorry for opening this topic again but I've never went with amd i was thinking for my next built I would go with them as I'm waiting to see what the 8xxx series brings that paired up with a 3930k sounds about right 😀

@outlander_04 I will be using 1080p monitors at 60hz

well he would need a new mortherboard and psu too (most likely) if he did 3x 670's

excactly sorry I didn't add that before I am a complete freaker about heat so what you are saying makes a point and watercooling is out of the question I am to much a worrier for that lol.

Motherboard supports tri sli and psu is a 1.2kw so no worrys there buddy.
