Question 6700k CPU multiplier not staying constant at higher MHZ

Hi,

So I am a self/internet tough professional overclocked as of late, I want to think, the internet played the biggest role in that tho.


So my question is, i got my 6700k overclocked to 4.8ghz and it ran stable, temps were 77 under full load, 1.488 v.core.

The thing is tho, where i have it now @ 4.66ghz the multiplier stays a constant (x 35)

If i have it on 4.8ghz, under load it stays (x35) for a few minutes and then will jump between (x34 and x 35)

Is that a problem or can i floor the 4.8ghz?

Ok so i might have solved it, it seems that its a lack in power. Got it at 4.8ghz, 1.536 vcore and temps are 84 degrees :O

That is a pretty high indicated core voltage....(uncomfortably so, IMO)

Not sure I'd apply that much for that last 100 MHz and it's potential 1 fps gain in gaming, but, good luck...

Yeah, its hectic man, i got it on 4.7ghz now and vcore is 1.42 and 70 under full load. so i think ill stick here.

I got mine to 4.5 @1.31v can get 46 @ 1.35v 47 1.4+ still not stable i would be happy at 47 @1.42 but it won't run stable... so I went with 4.5 at 1.31 volts what software are you using for testing if you don't mind me asking? I also put adaptive setting for the voltage so on idle the system can rest. @ idle it sits at .9v 2.7ghz 21°. any lower of a voltage causes programs to crash after being in idle i would suggest not running at constant 1.42v
