Long story short, I upgraded my pc with a Gigabyte z170 gaming 3, a 6700k and DDR4 RAM. The rig worked from the start, but when trying different OC settings, not even passing 4.6Ghz and 1.35Vcore, I found endless stability problems: computer freezing on every test, blue screen of dead with "clock watchdog timeout" message, until my gigabyte MB entered a endless boot loop.
Tried different RAM sticks and different MB, asus z170 Pro Gaming is stuck on the still dram led without any beep...
At this point I'm pretty sure is the CPU, since RAM, MB and PSU all had been tested...
What is wrong with this CPU model? I never ended up with a bad cpu, but this being top of the line and OC oriented, a 4.6Ghz OC is the minimum someone can expect.

Does anyone found similar problems?

Each CPU is different. Some can hit 4.8 on stock, or some can hit 4.2 with 1.4volts. ITs called the silicon lottery. I would try reseting the bios, remove the battery and unplug the PSU from an outlet and power cycle the system. Wait 5 minutes, and plug it back in, and see if you can get back to the bios.

When Overclocking, you gotta go slow.

When I was OCing my 5820k, I didn't know what I could get easily. So I moved every 100mhz. I was able to hit 4.2 at stock before I ran into thermal issues.

I overclocked my 6700k to 4.5ghz at 1.26 volts and im almost positive I can drop the voltage lower at this setting. Passed stress test never going above 58c. Im sure i can even go higher on my overclock but id rather see where i can get my voltage down to running 4.5ghz. I followed a OC.net tutorial for all the setting adjustments. Not everyone gets a great chip but 4.6 shouldve been easily obtainable with the proper voltage adjustments for you. I have seen many users sitting at 4.8 no problem.

Try updtaing the bios?
