6700k for 4K or upgrade

My pc
Gtx 1080ti
16gb ddr 4
I7 6700k

After upgrade to a 4K screen.
Do I need to put more mony for the 8700k with new z370 motherboard (600$) ? Will it make any diffrance
Or just stay with the 6700k ?


The only thing my pc is doin and will do is gaming at ultra 1440&4k!!

No, your cpu is fine. The higher the resolution the lower the FPS and the less the work for the cpu. Ok that’s over simplified but it reasonably describes it.

Likely, you will not need to do anything.
Regardless, go ahead with your 4k monitor and see how you do.
No sense in prematurely changing something you may not need to change.

6700K most definitely is *NOT* a bottleneck at 4k!
